Amazon.com Product Description
Adding a twist to traditional MP3 player functions, the Bantam BA800 not only plays MP3 and WMA files, but also displays digital still photos on its 1.8-inch color LCD screen. The dual functions make it a handy unit for folks who want the best of both worlds: portable music and a palm-held photo album. The BA800 supports a variety of visual formats, including JPEG, TIFF, BMP, and GIF, and displays the photos in a slideshow fashion while music plays in the background. Users have the choice of random, fade, push, or mosaic transitions, and intervals of 5, 10, 20, 30, or 60 seconds. And should the 256 MB of built-in memory prove insufficient, simply insert a Secure Digital card into the expansion memory slot.

Though the video functions make the biggest splash, the BA800 is an audio player at its core. Bantam integrated five sound modes into the device--flat, rock, jazz, dance, and Latino--and such playback modes as repeat (one and all tracks), shuffle, and resume. The resulting flexibility gives listeners several options based on genre and personal taste. Adding to the convenience is the slick interface and well-designed control panel, which lies underneath the 312 x 230 resolution screen. And tying it all together is CoolLights, an inventive built-in light show. CoolLights turns the player's semitranslucent sides into a 256-color chameleon. The player can pulse to the beat, slowly morph from one color to another, or simply display a solid hue.

The underside of the player includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a USB port for computer connection, and a slot that plugs into the included docking cradle. Additional features include a power-saving auto-off function; brightness and contrast controls; adjustable backlighting; a hold switch; and a rechargeable lithium-ion battery.

The Bantam BA800 measures 3.5 by 2.8 by 1.6 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty.
